Peoria woman arrested in connection with Tuesday shooting

PEORIA (WEEK) -- Police have arrested a 39-year-old woman after a shooting sent a man to the hospital Tuesday afternoon in Peoria.

Police say it started around 2:35 PM with an argument between a man and a woman on North North Street.

In a release Wednesday, PPD say the man tried to drive away, and the woman, identified as Latisha Bailey, 39, fired a gun into the car.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot in the hand.

He was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Around 8:00 PM that same day, officers found Bailey in the 500 block of NE Glen Oak Avenue and took her to the Peoria Police Department for questioning.

After being interviewed, Bailey was arrested for aggravated battery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
