UPDATE: Man arrested after overnight shooting leaves one seriously injured

7:00 AM UPDATE: Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell says 25-year-old David Dillard, Jr. has been arrested in connection with Sunday night's shooting outside of Laramie Liquors in Peoria.

Asbell says he faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

He remains in the Peoria County Jail, where he could appear in court later today.

The unnamed victim remains in the hospital with critical injuries.

PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) -- The Peoria County Sheriff's office says they are questioning a person of interest in connection with a Sunday night shooting outside a liquor store.

The sherif's office says they responded around 10:45 PM to the parking lot of Laramie Liquors for a man shot inside a car.

There, they found a 26-year-old man with several gunshot wounds.

He has been taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center with what are being called serious injuries.

There is no word on the person of interest Detectives are questioning.

The incident remains under investigation.
