GALESBURG, Ill. (WEEK) -- A 21-year-old man awaits a bond hearing in the Knox County Jail after his alleged involvement in a weekend stabbing.

Galesburg police say they were called to the Emergency Room of St. Mary's Hospital Sunday for a stabbing victim. There, they found a 54-year-old man with a stab wound to the left side of the back.

That man later told police he had been stabbed during an altercation at his house by 21-year-old Junior Wallace, but did not wish to pursue charges. That victim was later taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria for treatment.

Wallace was later arrested, and charged with aggravated battery after an investigation into what happened.

He remains in the Knox County Jail.
