PEORIA (WEEK) - Authorities have made a second arrest for a shootout at a Peoria gas station late last month that killed another man.

Officers with the Peoria Police Target Offender Unit and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force learned the whereabouts of Dearian Patterson, 19, then took him into custody during a traffic stop just before 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of West Main Street.

Patterson had a firearm with him when police found him, according to a news release.

Patterson is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm for the January 29 shooting that fatally wounded Jevon Gilliam, 31, outside a gas station at SW Adams Street and South Easton Avenue.

Marvin Sanders, 31, was also wounded in the shooting. He was treated at a local hospital and later arrested on a murder charge.

People with information about Laster's whereabouts or if they have surveillance camera footage of the area are asked to call Peoria Police at 309-673-4521. Anonymous tips can be phoned into Crime Stoppers at 309-673-9000.
