NORMAL (WEEK) - Several residents at the Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing in Normal received their second doses of COVID-19 vaccine, including a 104-year-old who recently had the virus.

Dr. Elsa Schmidt had COVID-19 in December. When asked how she battled the infection, Schmidt replied, “I didn’t even notice that I had COVID, and I was told, life went on.”

Schmidt was a geology professor. She still loves to read about geology studies.

She’ll be 105 in May.
