Peoria, Ill. (WEEK) -- The Peoria Housing Authority has a new security team starting next month.
Current security, Peoria-based Pinnacle Security is out.
They're opting not to put in a bid for a new contract after their current one expires.
Starting February 1st, Rockford area based company Security Pro Intel will take over the job.
The Peoria Housing Authority said it won't be a 24/7 service.
Security Pro Intel will create shifts during busy times to help Peoria Police.
Two security guards will rove between all housing authoritylocations.
They do not carry guns.
Guards have mace and tazers.
PHA will pay $64,000 a year for that service.
