Morton public works asks village residents to park off-street before ice storm

MORTON (WEEK) -- Morton Public Works Director Craig Loudermilk is asking village residents to move their cars off the street before the forecasted ice storm.

Loudermilk said with the forecasted sleet and freezing rain, laying down salt around parked vehicles creates a difficult challenge for plow drivers.

He also said that as all public works departments participate in plowing snow, there could be both new and experienced driver working on the streets and that trucks are difficult to control when there is ice.

He advised moving cars off the street before heading to bed Thursday night.
