14 COVID-19-related deaths reported in Tri-County area over holiday weekend

(WEEK) -- An additional 14 COVID-19-related deaths are being reported in the Tri-County area of Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties since Wednesday of last week, bringing the area's total to 254.

Peoria County is reporting eight of those for a total of 132. Four of the newly reported deaths were residents at Bickford.

Tazewell County is reporting five new deaths for a total of 96, and Woodford County's additional death raises its total to 26.

The area is also seeing an increase of 1,515 cases for a total of 17,976.

Peoria County reports 737 new cases for a total of 9,240. Tazewell County added 620 cases, bringing its total to 6,928 and Woodford County announced an increase of 158 for a total of 1,808.

The recovery rate for the area is at 65.66%, while 32.35% are at home in isolation and .48% are hospitalized.

Area hospitals are reporting 56 ICU beds and 192 non-ICU beds are currently in use by those who have tested positive for the virus and those under investigation.
