Police: Peoria man arrested in Knox County with modified shotgun, about 400 grams of marijuana

KNOX COUNTY (WEEK) -- A 22-year-old Peoria man was arrested in Knox County on gun and drug charges Thursday, according to the county's sheriff's office.

Jaylon Walden is facing numerous charges after deputies located a modified 12-gauge shotgun, 29 medical-use only THC pens, and eight bags with about 400 grams of marijuana, according to a Facebook post by the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies pulled Walden over for a traffic stop on Interstate 74 near mile post 44 for doing 87 miles per hour in a 70 MPH zone when the shotgun and drugs were located.

Walden was arrested on charges of armed violence, driving under the influence of intoxicating compounds, unlawful possession and consumption of marijuana in a motor vehicle, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, speeding and improper lane usage, according to the KCSO.

Walden is being held at the Knox County Jail and waiting for bond to be set.
