Driver and suspect suffer stab wounds in struggle aboard Peoria public bus

PEORIA (WEEK) - The driver of a CityLink public bus was stabbed in the neck Thursday evening by a passenger he had earlier kicked off the bus, according to Peoria Police.

First responders were called about 8:30 p.m. to Western and Lincoln Avenues.

The suspect, who's in police custody, suffered a stab wound to the chest after the driver fought back, said police spokesperson Amy Dotson.

The driver and suspect were taken to a local hospital. Their injuries are considered serious, but not life-threatening, said Dotson.
