PEORIA (WEEK) -- Country music fans in central Illinois now have another event to look forward to as a popular music festival returns to the River City in 2021.
In a press release Sunday, Tailgate N' Tallboys organizers announced the festival will be adding an additional weekend at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in Peoria on June 3 and June 4.
Louisville Slugger Sports Complex Vice President Rick Gaa hopes the event can be the start of a great summer next year.
"We are excited Tailgate N’ Tallboys is able to return to Peoria and look forward to providing a first-class venue and experience," Gaa said.
While the Peoria Riverfront hosted the music festival from 2017 to 2019, it left for South Fork Park in Taylorville this year. Organizers still plan on hosting a weekend there from July 29-31.
Event organizer Wayne Klein wants fans to have a new experience at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex.
"Our roots are here, and it just feels right," Klein said. "We can't wait for everyone to experience this amazing venue in a whole new way."
Information about talent lineups and ticket sales will be announced at a later date.
