PEORIA (WEEK) - Halloween is almost here and on Saturday humans and furry friends got the chance to get in the spirit while raising money for a good cause.
Paws Giving Independence hosted a trick-or-treat I-Spy event with participants meeting plenty for four-legged friends along the way.
The event spread out all across Peoria with 12 different hidden locations providing treats for humans and pups.
The organization trains dogs to assist children and adults with a variety of special needs.
Founder Donna Kosner said the funds raised will go toward helping their dogs in training secure the proper tools the pups need to succeed.
"We have special vests and harnesses that the dogs wear and those are all about 600 dollars a piece anything we raise, the nice thing about donating to us is that it goes directly to the dogs and not the overhead. " said Kosner
Some pups even came prepared to trick-or-treat in costume!
