PEORIA (WEEK) - Metro Center gathered food supplies for those in need, while getting creative with fall fun.
The shopping center came up with a virtual pumpkin contest paired with a food drive.
Their idea is to have shoppers pick their pumpkin of choice, carve or decorate it, and then upload a picture to their website.
"We were just looking for something fun to do around the Halloween season that was still safe and that we thought people would participate in," said Metro Center Manager, Jason Fuller.
It will then be eligible for four different categories, each with a 100 dollar gift card as the prize.
Fuller says the pumpkins came from one of their local farmers that participates in their famers market.
All of the canned foods gathered during the event will be donated to the Midwest Foodbank.
