NORMAL (HOI) -- October is breast cancer awareness month and Fort Jesse Imaging and Gale Keeran Center for Women is doing their part to raise awareness.

Their 7th annual 'Breast in Show Bra Auction' raises money to go towards mammograms for women in Mclean County.

Each bra is decorated by local businesses who take decorating to the next level. The center posts a photo of each bra where anyone can like their favorite or bid to take home the bra.

Along with the bra, gift baskets are provided and usually worth more than $200.

The pandemic hasn't slowed down fundraising either, Mammographer Bree Adcock, said they have already raised $1,400 more than last year.

Every mammogram is $99 and Adcock explained why every dollar was so important.

"They can come in here and not have to worry about getting a bill for that exam that can save their life," said Adcock, "The last two years it has also been able to pay, if that lady gets called back and needs to get more views because there's possibly something going on in her breast, we've been able to pay for that diagnostic exam."

The top bidder for each bra will take home the bra and basket. Bidding is on their Facebook page until 5 pm October 16th.
