PEORIA (WEEK) -- Bradley University is eliminating the traditional spring break from the Spring 2021 academic calendar.
According to a university release from provost Walter Zakahi, the spring semester will also begin a week later than usual -- on Wednesday, January 27.
Zakahi said it allows students and staff time to quarantine after any travel over the holidays.
With the later start and elimination of spring break, the university said those actions should reduce the possibilities of spreading COVID-19.
They continue to base their decisions on science with input from health experts.
Wednesday, May 5 remains a study day with finals taking place May 6-12.
Information regarding faculty and staff report dates, student housing, move-in, J-term courses and more will be released in the coming weeks, according to the university.
