Driver, passenger hospitalized after semitrailer flips on I-74

PEORIA COUNTY (WEEK) — Two out-of-state residents were injured after their semitrailer flipped early Wednesday morning, according to a report by Illinois State Police.

Around 4:30 AM, 44-year-old Tasnim Sharef of St. Louis and 45-year-old Victor C. Nnebe of Bordentown, New Jersey were traveling westbound on I-74 near milepost 86.5. After veering to the left and crossing the median, the vehicle flipped over and landed on the eastbound side of the interstate.

Both Sharef and Nnebe were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. All lanes were closed for about four and a half hours, and reopened around 9:00 AM.
