Caterpillar appoints new vice president

DEERFIELD (WEEK) — A new hire will take his position as Vice President at Caterpillar later this year.

The Deerfield-based company announced the appointment of Marc Cameron today, who will oversee Cat's Resource Industries Sales, Services and Technology Division.

According to an official company release, Cameron graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Master of Business Administration. After starting in the construction industry, Cameron worked for 20 years in mining, helping lead value streams for copper and diamonds. He worked in various roles at Rio Tinto, one of Caterpillar's largest mining customers.

Cameron will start in his new position on November 3 this year, and will be based out of Tucson, Arizona.
