TAZEWELL COUNTY (WEEK) -- Tazewell County now has one of the youngest COVID-19 deaths in central Illinois -- and the health department is urging residents to make sure they're taking proper precautions.
An individual in their thirties passed away yesterday, which comes as the county's case numbers pushed it into an orange warning level last Friday.
Sarah Sparkman with the Tazewell County health department says your health can change quickly when contracting COVID-19 -- no matter what physical condition you're in.
"You know, every death that we have in our county we feel strongly, and our thoughts are with the families in those deaths," she said. "Unfortunately, like we talked about, this disease has no limits on age."
Sparkman reinforces the importance of universal pandemic safety to protect yourself and those around you:
- Keep your distance
- Wash your hands
- Wear your mask
