PEORIA (WEEK) -- Peoria's Fourth District Councilman Jim Montelongo is not seeking his seat for a third term -- while also considering a run for Peoria mayor.
On Facebook, Montelongo said that two 4-year terms in one position should be plenty for anyone to in public office to get things done.
He has served as the Fourth District Councilman for eight years, along with a four-year stint as an at-large councilman.
"We have done a lot of great things to keep 4th District a vibrant place for retail, restaurants, businesses and also a great place to own a home and raise a family," he said. "Now is the time to move up or move out of the way."
