McLean County election commissions release locations of vote-by-mail drop boxes

MCLEAN COUNTY (WEEK) -- The two election commissions based in McLean County announced the locations for drop boxes designed for mail-in ballots in the Nov. 3 election.

The McLean County and city of Bloomington election commissions say this will be the first time drop boxes are specifically used for mail-in ballots in the county.

The boxes were legalized in June when legislation was signed to expand vote-by-mail options due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

"If voters do not wish to mail their ballot, they have the option of depositing their ballot in one of several securely located drop boxes around McLean County. Ballots will be collected daily by election judges so that no ballots will remain at these locations overnight," the announcement read.

The drop boxes will be available on various days and times between Sept. 28 through Nov. 2.
