SARAH DE RAMIREZ

Sarah Stewart de Ramirez
OSF Healthcare, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Clinical Innovation

Sarah Stewart de Ramirez is a major asset to the Peoria area.  She is a Harvard Medical School graduate who trained in Emergency Medicine at John Hopkins Hospital.  She practiced and taught at Johns Hopkins Hospital for nearly a decade, and focused her research on using innovative tools to improve health systems throughout the world, in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

Lucky for us, she joined OSF HealthCare in Peoria as the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Clinical Innovation.  In this capacity, she leads the Complex Solution Innovation Team and the Jump Health Equity Action Lab, where she is responsible for directing the health systems innovation efforts centered on achieving health equity though community health innovation.  She is also an Emergency Medicine physician and an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine where she created and directs the Innovation in Global Rural Health programs.  This program is geared at training future clinicians in the tools of innovation to address health disparities.  Her expertise is in the fusion of innovative population health approaches with the science of health care delivery to optimize health outcomes for the most vulnerable patient populations.

Let’s welcome Sarah to our 25 Women in Leadership
