TAZEWELL COUNTY (WEEK) -- Tazewell County Clerk John Ackerman is giving an update on preparations for Election Day.
In 2018, the most vote-by-mail applications processed by the county amounted to 2,800.
However, Ackerman said that as of Thursday, August 6, his office has processed over 6,000 applications.
Ackerman also said those who choose to vote in-person on Election Day will not need to wear a face mask -- however a donation was made available that will allow people that option on Election Day.
This follows a donation by Anheuser-Busch Brewery that made hand sanitizer available for each polling location.
Offsite early voting has also doubled; Early voting at the County Clerk's office will begin September 24.
On October 16-18 as well as October 23-25, early voting will be made available at the following locations:
- Washington Township building
- Morton Township building
- Tremont Community Center
- East Peoria FOLEPI building
