PEORIA COUNTY (WEEK) - A Peoria County circuit judge has rejected a Peoria city councilman's efforts to have the results of a polygraph test used in his upcoming trial.

Zach Oyler is charged with domestic battery and interfering with the report of domestic violence after an incident last summer with his wife.

Judge Kevin Lyons ruled Tuesday that the test results are against Illinois law.

Oyler's trial is scheduled to start Monday, July 13.

Oyler hired a new lawyer, Chandra Justice, to represent him.
