NORMAL (WEEK) - The Corn Crib in Normal is hosting events for the community over the Fourth of July weekend.

Many events have been canceled this year due to COVID-19, but the Corn Crib found a way to celebrate the fourth that is out of this galaxy.

Last night, the stadium hosted their first ever Fourth of July fireworks, and the theme for the show was Star Wars. Characters approved by Lucas Films were at the corn crib in full gear, despite the heat. The characters took pictures with those in attendance and watched some Cornbelters baseball.

The Cornbelters are also hosting a four team tournament over the weekend. The stadium is having another firework show Saturday night, following the baseball games. General manager, Todd Kunze, says the Corn Crib has enough space to keep everyone who attends safe.

"The stadium is huge. We can hold a lot of fans and so there will be plenty of room with the social distancing. And just ask fans to cooperate with common sense and the social distancing guidelines. Everybody will be able to space out comfortably," said Kunze.
