NORMAL (WEEK) - The Corn Crib in Normal will have firework shows Friday and Saturday night.
While many events have been canceled due to COVID-19, general manager Todd Kunze says the Corn Crib has enough space to host fireworks and still keep everyone who attends safe.
"The stadium is huge. We can hold a lot of fans and so there will be plenty of room. Everybody will be able to space out comfortably," said Kunze.
Kunze says Friday's firework show is Star Wars themed.
"There's going to be some star wars characters here approved by Lucas Films. They're going to be hot, but people haven't been able to do anything so I think it'll be really exciting to be able to do that," said Kunze.
Along with fireworks, there is a four team weekend tournament, since the Corn Crib's league was canceled. Some local players whose spring season were cut short are now able to play ball.
"There were a lot of great talented players from this area available so we were able to fill the four team roster. This was an opportunity for us, for players to get back on the field and play some great baseball," said Kunze.
Kunze said the stadium is following all CDC guidelines to ensure the public's safety.
"We have the plexiglass in the concession stand, spacing stickers, the social distancing messaging on the scoreboard, and people have been asked, if you come to the concourse area, please wear a masks," added Kunze.
Tickets for this weekends events are still available online, over the phone, or at the Corn Crib box office.
