UPDATE (10 p.m.) - A Morton business is a complete loss after flames ripped through the building just before 6 p.m. on Monday.

The two alarm fire broke out a One Source Equipment Rentals on Detroit Avenue. A passerby on I-155 called it in.

Flames spread to the outside of other buildings, but firefighters knocked it down quickly and no other buildings were damaged, said Morton Fire Chief Joe Kelley.

According to the chief, firefighters were expected to remain on the scene for several hours.

"We'll use heavy machinery to move that wall structure around so we can get to the flames underneath," Kelley said.

The chief said firefighters from five other departments helped Morton crews put out the flames. No one was hurt, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

MORTON (WEEK) -- Fire crews are on scene of a fire at One Source Equipment Rentals at 945 Detroit Avenue in Morton, just before 6 p.m. Monday.

Morton Fire Chief Joe Kelley said it was a two-alarm fire and five other departments responded to assist.

Kelley said the call was made by a passerby on the interstate.

Crews will be on scene over the next few hours to move walls to get to the fire underneath.

Kelley said the fire spread to the exterior of other buildings but those buildings suffered no interior damage, "because they were able to knock it down quickly.

No injuries were reported.

Police still have part of Detroit Avenue closed.
