HANNA CITY (WEEK) -- Wildlife Prairie Park is open to the public again.
According to a release, all animal trails, hiking trails and biking trails were opened Friday and ready for guests.
Social distancing and masks are encouraged but not required.
However, the Prairie Zephyr Train has been derailed.
Per Restore Illinois Phase 4 guidelines, zoos open to the public must keep rides and indoor exhibits closed, so the Prairie Zephyr Train has been derailed.
The train had been running on weekends while the park was open to members only.
Fishing is also open on five lakes and the disc golf course is open for play.
With guidelines allowing groups of up to 50 people, the park has added daily animal keeper chats and animal encounters. There are also set feeding times for some of the animals allowing guests to know when animals will be most active as well as guided tours.
The park will also be hosting food trucks. Mike’s Knot Just Ribs will be on hand from 11 a.m until 2 p.m. daily when the park is open.
Wildlife Prairie Park has added 10 new baby bison and seven new baby elk bringing the total to over 150 animals -- all of which are or have been native to the area.
