Peoria County reports 7 new COVID-19 cases, Woodford County announces 1 new case

PEORIA (WEEK) -- Tri-County area health officials are reporting eight new novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases Monday, to bring the total to 337.

Peoria County announced seven new cases for a total of 234 and Woodford County reported one new case, to bring its total to 22, according to the Peoria City/County Health Department.

Tazewell County remains at 74 confirmed cases.

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported Monday, leaving the Tri-County area at 16: Peoria County, nine; Tazewell County, five; Woodford County, 2.

Of the 337 cases in the area, 73% have recovered, while 17.2% are at home in isolation and 5% are hospitalized.

As of Monday, area hospitals report five intensive care unit beds are in use by those who have tested positive for the virus, while one is in use by an individual under investigation.

The hospitals also report 18 non-ICU beds are in use by those who tested positive and those under investigation.
