Severe Storms Possible Today

The chance for severe storms, including the threat for a few tornadoes is present Saturday afternoon, especially northward.

Timing & Location: Storms will likely develop in our western counties after noon. It'll linger through the afternoon until around 6 PM or so. As the afternoon progresses the threat moves eastward through the viewing area. The best chance will be north of I-74.

Threats: Tornadic thunderstorm cells are possible - again, especially north of I-74. All other thunderstorm risks aren't out of the question either.

Outlook: Below is the Storm Prediction Center's outlook which includes an "Enhanced Risk" (level 3 out of 5) north of I-74. This includes the Peoria metro area. Areas southward are in the lesser criteria.
