GALESBURG (WEEK) - A baby girl has tested positive for COVID-19, the Knox County Health Department reported Thursday.
The child is younger than one-year old, according to a news release. No other details about the case are being released because of federal privacy restrictions, the health department said.
The agency reported four other confirmed cases Thursday, bringing the total number of people who've tested positive in Knox County at 47.
The latest positive readings come from two men in their 40s, a woman in her 30s, and another woman in her 50s, the health department reported
"The Knox County Unified Command reiterates that residents are encouraged to be vigilant and continue to take protective measures to prevent the spread of illness within the community," the statement said.
The statement went on the say, "Continue implementing social distancing to limit the spread of the virus and stay at home as much as possible. Be mindful of those who are at greater risk for contracting this virus."
