(WEEK) -Numbers from Comcast show more people are using the internet.
Usage was up 32 percent as of March 30, according to the cable and internet provider. The peak usage time used to be closer to bedtime at 9 p.m. Now, it's between 7 and 8 p.m.
While some people might feel their speeds are a little slower, Comcast Regional Vice President Jack Segal said the company is not having network issues, and engineers are ensuring they can handle the increased traffic.
One tip is to re-route the router.
"Put it somewhere in the center of the house. Put it up high. Don't put it in a cabinet that's closed. Don't put it next to your microwave. Don't put it next to a box. Put it out there high up where the signal can get as far as it can go," Segal said.
Comcast is also offering free internet for 60 days to those who qualify as part of its Internet Essentials program. For information, call Comcast at 1-800-934-6489.
