PEORIA (WEEK) -- During the global COVID-19 pandemic, local non-profit Jolt Harm Reduction is making sure that the local homeless population and their other patrons are not forgotten.
Program Director Chris Schaffner says, with social distancing and the stay-at-home order still in place, the clients Jolt serves are particularly vulnerable, especially if there is an overdose.
The program is still offering free overdose kits, which include Narcan.
You can pick those up at their Peoria location.
Jolt can also deliver the kits directly to your door.
But they don't stop there.
They're also providing meals, homemade masks, and other essential products for those experiencing homelessness.
Jolt says giving masks to these clients is especially important now, as many public transportation providers require masks now.
