CHICAGO (WEEK) -- MLB Hall of Famer and Peoria-area native Jim Thome is All In for Illinois.
The former slugger was featured in a YouTube video for Gov. JB Pritzker's administration's All In Illinois campaign focused on showcasing solidarity amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to stay home and stay safe.
"These are strange times for sure. I'm here with my family at home in Chicago and we've been social distancing for weeks like the rest of you. Please, let's keep it up for our own families and everyone on the frontlines who've been working so hard to flatten the curve. Together, we can beat this thing, because we're all in for Illinois."Jim Thome
The statewide effort by the Pritzker administration encourages social distancing and to follow the stay-at-home order to help flatten the curve.
Other celebrities and athletes joined in to promote the effort. Patrick Kane, Jane Lynch, Andy Richter, Horace Grant, Jackie Joyner-Kersee and many others are featured on the website's page.
Thome was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018.
