UPDATE (1:30 p.m.) -- McLean County health officials say the second COVID-19-related death in the county was a male in his 70s who tested positive for the virus earlier in March.
The officials are also reporting an additional case, bringing the county's total to 18. The latest case reported is a woman in her 80s who is currently being hospitalized.
MCLEAN COUNTY (WEEK) -- McLean County health officials are reporting a second novel coronavirus (COVID-19) related death Tuesday.
No other information was given in the health department's announcement regarding the individual. This brings the total number of COVID-19-related deaths in McLean County to two.
The first death was reported on March 22, when officials said a woman in her 70s died earlier that week.
McLean County health officials also announced the number of confirmed cases remains at 17.
A press briefing will be held at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.
On Monday, the Illinois Department of Public Health announced the state had 73 COVID-19 deaths and 5,057 confirmed cases.
