PEORIA (WEEK) - Peoria, Bloomington, Normal, and Springfield will receive nearly $3 million dollars in grant money to help people during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The grants were announced by Congressman Darin LaHood's Office Tuesday.
LaHood said the funding will support housing rehabilitation, provide homeowner assistance, economic development projects, and up homelessness prevention.
The money will come in two forms: Community Development Blog Grants, and Emergency Shelter Grants.
Here is a table from LaHood's Office breaking down the two categories:
|NAME||CDBG20-COVID Recovery||ESG20-COVID Recovery|
The funding was provided through the recently passed Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).
