State health officials report over 1,000 new COVID-19 cases Sunday; 18 additional deaths

SPRINGFIELD (WEEK) -- State health officials are reporting 1,105 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 18 additional deaths on Sunday.

The latest report by the Illinois Department of Public Health brings the statewide total number of cases to 4,596 and 65 deaths across 47 counties.

The latest deaths related to COVID-19 are:

  • Cook County: male 50s, 2 females 60s, 2 males 70s, 3 females 70s, 2 males 80s, female 80s
  • DuPage County: male 60s
  • Kane County: male 40s, 2 males 90s
  • Kendal County: male 60s
  • LaSalle County: male 80s
  • St. Clair County: female 70s

Bond, Knox, Menard and Montgomery counties are the latest to report cases of the virus.
