NBC News

PEORIA (WEEK) -- OSF HealthCare said the first case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Peoria County has been confirmed.

Health officials say the person was screened over the phone and tested at home by OSF Healthcare. Although their age and gender have not been revealed, they are said to be recovering at home in isolation.

This comes two days after health officials announced the first confirmed case in central Illinois on Sunday.

In that case, a man in his 70s in Woodford County was found to have the virus Friday after being tested at a UnityPoint Health clinic.
