(WEEK) -- Bloomington has a wide variety of food joints. But one in particular, is a little more unconventional than the others.
To see what I'm talking about, you have to go inside the Bloomington VFW. I know, but this VFW hall plays home to the Pop Up Chicken Shop, a Nashville-style fried chicken spot.
Owners Chris Bradley and Aaron Francis say they were inspired by the southern, Nashville way of making chicken. Since starting they have even had customers from Tennessee tell them their product is better than that of Nashville.
After trying it out for myself, I can say with confidence that this chicken is the real deal. To compliment the chicken, they have some all american favorites to offer on the side.
Whether it's cornbread, street corn, dill fries, gouda mac & cheese, or others, you really can't go wrong.
I'm recommending this place not just because of the food, but also because the price. For mild chicken breast, mac & cheese, dill fries, and a water on the side my total only hit $13.84.
With the timing of this You Gotta Eat and the deadly storms Nashville saw this week, we are showing our support by encouraging people to donate to one of the GoFundMe pages set up to help support the victims of the disaster.
