BLOOMINGTON (WEEK) -- After a long-term investigation, Bloomington Police say they have arrested three suspects for charges related to child sex trafficking in Central Illinois.

It started in June 2019, when BPD's Criminal Investigation Division launched their investigation.

They received help from the FBI and the US Attorney's Office.

On February 21st, Teon D. Williams, Jahquan V. Howard, Andrew Wheeler, and an unnamed 17-year-old female were arrested and charged in federal court.

Teon Williams

Teon Williams, 20, of the 800 block of E. Washington St. in Bloomington, is charged with child sex trafficking for offenses from 2017 through 2019.

Jahquan Howard

Jahquan Howard, 26, of the 1700 block of Linda Lane in Normal, was indicted on child sex trafficking and production of child pornography for offenses from 2018 through 2019.

Andrew Wheeler

Andrew Wheeler, 24, of the 500 block of Bradley Lane in Normal, was indicted on child sex trafficking and child sex trafficking conspiracy for offenses alleged to have occurred in 2019.

Bloomington Police did not specify the charges against the 17-year-old female.

However, they did note that, when any person under 18 is induced to perform a sex act, it is a crime, regardless of whether there is force or coercion involved.

To report an incident of that may involve the prostitution of children locally, call 911 or the Bloomington Police Department at (309) 820-888.

To get help or report a tip on activity occurring elsewhere please contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline at (888) 373-7888.
