No injuries reported in crash involving Clinton fire truck

CLINTON, Ill. (WEEK) -- Clinton firefighters escape injury after one of their fire trucks was hit while responding to another crash.

In a post on Facebook, the Assistant Fire Chief says the department was called to a garbage truck rollover at Route 51 and Route 54 around 4 PM Monday, along with the Clinton Police, DeWitt County Sheriff, and DeWitt County EMS.

Nearly two hours later, as cleanup was wrapping up, a secondary wreck happened nearby at Route 51 and Kleeman Drive.

That crash involved the Squad 5 fire truck. State Police were called into handle the crash.

No injuries were reported.

It is unclear if any citations have been issued, or what caused either crash.
