Arrest made in multiple Peoria armed robberies

Peoria Police have arrested a man they believe to be responsible for three armed robberies.

The suspect, Gentry D. Maxison, 30 years of age, reportedly entered the business each time armed with a knife, demanded money, then fled the area.

The first was Sunday, February 2, 2020 at approximately 7:49 pm, Peoria Police responded to the Dollar General, 2010 W Forrest Hill, regarding a report of an armed robbery to the business.

The next, Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at approximately 7:01 pm, Peoria Police responded to the Family Dollar, 600 S Western, regarding a report of an armed robbery to the business.

The final on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at approximately 3:54 pm, Peoria Police responded to the Dollar General, 2010 W Forrest Hill, regarding a report of an armed robbery to the business.

No injuries were reported during any of the incidents.

During the investigation, Peoria Police developed information leading to the identification of Maxison.

At approximately 3:50 pm on Monday, Maxison was taken into custody without incident in the area of Sheridan and Nebraska, transported to the Peoria Police Department for questioning, and arrested for 3 counts of Armed Robbery.

Maxison was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
