BLOOMINGTON (WEEK) -- A Bloomington surgeon accused of aggravated sexual assault of a person with a disability bonded out of jail and is due back in McLean County court later this month.
Shaun Kink was arrested Wednesday on several sexual assault charges, including two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault of a person with a disability.
Kink's bond was set at $20,000. According to authorities, he bonded out sometime Wednesday night or early Thursday.
He also faces two counts of criminal sexual abuse with force, according to court records.
The incident that led to Kink’s arrest allegedly occurred on Dec. 5, 2019 and involved an adult female victim and forced oral sex.
Bloomington police would not confirm whether or not the victim in the case was a patient of Kink’s.
"We are more concerned with protecting the integrity of the case and it is an active investigation so we're just trying to err on the side of caution. We have a sexual assault victim that we don't want to extra victimize them any more than they already are,” Bloomington Public Information Officer John Fermon said.
“We just like to keep the facts out there and let the information come out as it is available."
Kink is due back in court January 31.
