PEORIA (WEEK) – Basketball keeps making its way to Peoria, this time with Pop-A-Shot.
Originally based in Salinas, Kansas, the basketball arcade game picked up and moved its headquarters to Peoria, now occupying plenty of space on Southwest Adams.
City leaders said the Warehouse District is scoring interest and investment with open, architecturally unique settings.
“So, they’re maintaining the integrity of the buildings that they’re going into,” said Councilwoman Denise Moore. “But they’re making them better.”
“They’re refreshing them. And that’s what it’s all about. We’re not seeing a lot of people coming and wanting to do a lot of prefab anything. Because that wouldn’t fit down here.”
Both Councilwoman Moore and Mayor Jim Ardis both said another, similar announcement is on the way next week.
They feel Peoria has economic momentum.
