Five teens arrested for apartment robbery incident in Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON (WEEK) -- Bloomington police say they have arrested five teens in connection to an apartment robbery Tuesday.

Officers with the Bloomington Police Department were called to an apartment complex at 10 Basil Way for reports of a burglary at about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday.

After further instigation, officers learned a group of masked males allegedly battered one of the residents and entered the apartment, taking electronic equipment before leaving, according to a release by the BPD.

Coming across additional information, officers were led to an apartment complex in the 800 block of East Washington. A search of the apartment resulted in five arrests and officers locating drugs and two handguns.

Arrested were Roger E. Mendiola, 19, for robbery and two counts of possession of a firearm without a FOID card and transported to the McLean County Jail.

Madison N. Goin, Tyrel D. Jackson, and Tremayne R. Stancle, all age 18, were also arrested for robbery and transported to the county jail.

A juvenile, age 17, was arrested for robbery and transported to the McLean County Juvenile Detention Center.
