BLOOMINGTON (WJBC) -- After years of complaints, Lutz Road in Bloomington will see some upgrades.
Our news partner WJBC reports, the Bloomington City Council voted Monday night for close to $1 Million to go toward repairs of not only the stretch of road but the addition of sidewalks and curbs in the neighborhood.
Residents of the Luther Oaks Retirement Community are the primary users of Lutz Road so city officials are asking for something in return.
Assistant city Manager Billy Tyus said “The agreement calls for Luther Oaks to make $1.5 million in improvements to their campus, and the city will make improvements to the roadway”
Tyus added that there is a clawback option that will hold Luther Oaks to its side of the arrangement.
The council voted 8-1 in favor of the project.
