Winter Weather Advisory

Winter-Weather-Advisory

When it comes to precipitation type, you name it, we'll have it.

Flood Watch: Heavy rain is the first precipitation coming our way later Friday. 2 to 4 inches is possible, so be on alert for flooding. The Flood Watch runs for portions of the area through Saturday.

Winter Weather Alerts: A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for counties west of the Illinois River valley. LaSalle County is in a Winter Storm Watch, due to meeting slightly higher alert criteria.

Timing / Precipitation Type: We'll see temperatures drop, followed by frozen and (semi-frozen) precipitation. Below is the timeline.

Ice Accumulation Estimates: Expect decent ice accumulation northwest of the Illinois River valley. It doesn't take much ice accumulation to cause terrible road conditions and power outages.

Snowfall Accumulation Estimates:

Extended: After this system exits, we'll see temperatures drop.
