PEORIA (WEEK) -- A Peoria man arrested for allegedly drowning his wife has been indicted on charges of first-degree murder, according to court records.
Michael L. Vorrath, 63, was arrested December 13 after his wife Nancy Vorrath was found unresponsive on November 23.
Autopsy findings on Vorrath demonstrate that she died from drowning; she also suffered multiple, and significant blunt force injuries, consistent with inflicted trauma.
Police were advised the victim was found in a water filled utility sink and unresponsive.
Nancy Vorrath worked on-and-off for EP!C over the last 12 years, where she was named employee of the month in August, according to the company.
Her death marked the 25th homicide of 2019.
Michael Vorrath will be back in court January 2.
