25 News would like to thank everyone who stopped by our East Peoria Studios to donate blood for the American Red Cross.
Around this time of year it can be tough to keep up with, well, everything between shopping, cooking, working and just balancing life.
Even the most consistent donors can lose track of time and forget, which is white ARC reports low blood supply between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.
Across the country the ARC is in critical need for all blood types, and with an average donation taking roughly 45 minutes, your lunch break could be the difference between someone living or dying.
Thursday's goal was 40 pints and that was exceeded. At last count, 43 pints were collected. We'll update the number after a final count.
Every two seconds someone needs blood and up to three lives can be saved just with one pint. Thank you Central Illinois for helping to save lives!
If you missed Thursday's drive, Peoria Chapter of the American Red Cross will be hosting one Friday, December 27th at Fondulac Library from 12pm-4pm.
