PEORIA (WEEK) - Some of the services at EPIC in Peoria got major improvements thanks to community support.
EPIC supports individuals with intellectual and development disabilities and Monday, their new wellness center was unveiled.
The fitness equipment from Anytime Fitness North Peoria is to empower EPIC's member to live a healthy and active life.
And now, one of EPIC's own is going to help others achieve that.
"They've gone a step further and hired one of our individuals from our job placement program, his name is Josh, he's now a certified personal fitness trainer and he's now coming to EPIC to lead fitness classes for the people that we serve and staff," said Ashley Schreck with EPIC.
Money for the wellness center was also raised through a recent golf outing.
