Tyshan Gayton found, arrested one month after allegedly shooting at deputy

PEORIA (WEEK) – Tyshan Gayton, on the lam for a month after exchanging gunfire with law enforcement, has been arrested, Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell confirms.

Gayton, 23, of Peoria, was found in the 600 block of Spitznagle in Peoria after U.S. Marshals, the Peoria Police Department Target Offender Unit and patrol officers surrounded his location.

He surrendered without incident and was taken into custody on an Illinois Department of Corrections no bond warrant, according to a press release from the Peoria Police Department.

He was also arrested on other charges pertaining to an earlier incident.

Police say he exchanged gunfire with law enforcement officials on November 7.
